The Bayou Experience:
Six Wigs Deep
In 2019, Sixth Wig collective put on a variety show premised on the idea that the world would one day enter a bayou era: a soggy, loathsome, yet somewhat charming precursor to global warming’s more commonly imagined mass flooding. By turns silly and serious, chaotic and mystical, we put distinct flavor and stink on what is currently just a dangerously vague idea of the mayhem in store for us.
Written, produced by, and starring: Jacob Muselmann (host), Nicole Donaldson, Sierra Kramer, Josh Speer, Nicole Lupardus.
Capitalist Flow
For the 90th edition of the Universität der Künste Magazin, which sought to poke holes in the lucrative cult of meditation, mindfulness, spiritualism(TM) and self-help under late capitalism, I wrote a quasi-meditation braiding privilege, power and mass culture into a breathwork exercise. Design and photos by @katharinanejdl. Issue curated by Gruppe.
Lakeside Mediator
This performance piece on the same theme looped at the issue’s 2018 release launch at UdK. Direction and video by Fritz Schiffers, styling by Tim Heyduck, co-starring Joshua Hoareau.
BB
Curated by Gregory Blunt, A Night in Alexander was a 2018 group exhibition hosted by the Moscow-based art hub Tzvetnik. The show themed on Alexander Sauna, situated in the gay/club district of Gazi in Athens, Greece. I performed in Fritz Schiffers’ piece, BB.
Fried Green Ultimatums
For the Berlin art and fashion magazine Gruppe, I did a series of ruminations in 2017 that loosely focused on the paradoxes, conflicting wisdom and problematic double meanings we encounter both in the physical world and in trying to adhere to the dogmas of success and efficiency. Design by @aaronkalitzki.
