Onboarding for humans

The data-monitoring company Anodot was already very sophisticated in helping businesses catch anomalies quick, thanks to its powerful algorithm. But its super techie users were often being treated—both in content and design—like machines themselves. 🎛

 

Problem

Onboarding isn’t helpful or engaging.

 

Solution

After a content audit and stakeholder interviews, reimagine onboarding to educate, motivate, and empower the user.

As you can see, not very helpful or useful. Where is the metric search? How do I use it? What’s it for?

Here’s my redesign and rewrite. Each block is clickable once the previous one is complete. They take the user right to where they need to go.

Given the short time frame, I interviewed stakeholders not only to collect the relevant info, but to figure out which users we should target for the biggest impact.
